A hole in the water is a Greek (μια τρύπα στο νερό) and Italian (un buco nell’acqua) idiom used, for unexplainable reasons, to describe a failed attempt or a useless activity. Orestis Mavroudis was born in Athens, Greece in 1988 and currently lives and works in Berlin. He pursued studies in history and theory of art, filmmaking and visual arts at several universities in Greece, Italy and UK. He has created a variety of works including videos, photographs, books and installations.
